Regio in Tour – Waiting for Falstaff
Platform Members, Roadshow
Giuseppe Verdi’s music resonates in special and historically significant locations across the Province of Parma. To mark the premiere of Falstaff in October at the Festival Verdi 2025, the Teatro Regio di Parma presents a special concert series titled "Regio in Tour – Waiting for Falstaff". This includes five free-entry opera concerts, combining the enjoyment of Verdi's music with the discovery of local heritage. The concerts feature some of the most famous arias and scenes from Falstaff, performed by four young artists who completed their training at the Verdian Academy of the Teatro Regio di Parma, accompanied on piano with musical introductions. This initiative offers a prestigious performance opportunity for emerging talents of the Verdian Academy. It also allows audiences to discover new voices who, after intensive training (1,000 hours of classes with renowned Verdi interpreters), have developed a deep understanding of Verdi’s style, vocal technique, and theatrical expression.
Teatro Regio di Parma is one of Italy's most famous theatres of tradition, with a history of nearly 200 years. Alongside its lyric season, every year it hosts Festival Verdi, the only monographic festival worldwide that is dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, for which much scientific research is conducted. Teatro Regio reaches its territory through special projects outside theatre that embrace places of fragility and the outskirs.
